Terms of Service
Effective 2026-05-21.
By uploading a document or paying for the redlines.law service ("the Service") you agree to these terms.
The Service
redlines.law lets you upload a legal document, invite collaborators, and capture every revision as an immutable redline-trackable draft with attributable initials. We bill a one-time fee per document at upload.
Acceptable use
- You may upload documents you own or are authorized to handle on behalf of your client or employer.
- You may not upload material that is unlawful, infringes intellectual property, or contains malware.
- You may not attempt to bypass authentication, inspect another customer's documents, or reverse-engineer the encryption.
- Each user is responsible for keeping their magic-link tokens and passphrases secure. Token rotation is automatic on every new draft.
No legal advice
redlines.law is a software tool. We are not your lawyer. Nothing produced by the Service constitutes legal advice. The redline output is mechanical — you remain the professional reviewer.
Confidentiality
We treat every document as confidential. Encryption-at-rest, per-document keys, and an audit trail are described in the Security and Privacy pages. Our staff cannot read your document content; access requires the same magic-link or passphrase mechanism you use.
Payment and refunds
The per-document fee is charged via Stripe at upload. If the upload technically fails before a draft is recorded, contact support@redlines.law for a refund. Once a draft is recorded and you have received the magic link the fee is non-refundable.
Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of the Service is limited to the fees you have paid us in the prior twelve months.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.
